Description
The vertical cylinder arrangement common to all Shay type locomotives. This Shay was NOT built by Lima. This is the final Shay loco built by the Willamette Iron and Steel Works of Portland, OR in December of 1929. It is the ONLY Willamette in operational condition. Willamette only built 33 of these big beasties, and only 6 of them remain.
Rayonier #2 lives at the MRSR shops in Mineral, WA. It makes occasional runs, but is a temperamental machine.

Willamette 3-Truck Shay 1929, oil fired, superheated steam, weighs in at something like 75 tons or so.
