Description

16: UP #7780, a big GE ES44AC, leads a southbound stack train at about 40 MPH. The snow makes this quieter than it might otherwise be.
It's 1pm and this train rolling by means that the track is clear at Wabash, just a few miles north of town. within 5 minutes, the passenger train you can barely see in the background will receive the green light he's been waiting for.

Ahh, the congealed mess of a railroad district starts to thaw. The trains begin to move again.
However, south of town, another UP stack train still waits. 30 minutes later, it's still waiting.

I saw a train with just one of these 77## locomotives go north through Vancouver, WA pulling 98 freight cars, 5 passenger cars and a caboose. Serious power under this guy's "hood."

Thanks for sharing.
