This little "bobber" caboose once sat on display in front of the Supermall, in Auburn, WA.
A few months ago, it had its cupola ruthlessly cut loose and removed before being loaded on a flatbed trailer and hauled up to Mount Rainier Scenic RR's shops in Mineral, WA.
It now sits in their back lot, increasingly forgotten, exposed to the region's famously wet weather (Yeah, I know. It's perfectly sunny that day.), waiting to have its cupola restored.
Will it ever see steel rails again?
[EDIT]: During a recent visit to the MRSRR, I discovered that this caboose is merely a homemade cabin that was constructed using modern materials on a vintage 4-wheel flatcar in order to accompany Dinky
on the owner's short track on his property. The guy still owns it and the MRSRR is wondering when he will come and have it hauled away.
