|CC&C #15 storms past the Chehalis yard limits on a cool Saturday morning. |
I absolutely love the way cool weather enhances the looks of any operating steam engine.
Funny influences on my workI'm never the type to reveal too much, but I like to say what influence my style of humor, or style of art in my comics (order not in particular order):Funny influences on my work by KendallCollins
1. Monty Python: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1oMhMwUbgc because I feel that the best way to have comedy is try to make something weird but entertaining at the same time. This has proven a good thing because 90% of my comics have a strange joke that only few people get, but I don't care because I made them and I enjoy them.
2. Simierski's British Railway Series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7oaN7CLgJg because of the characters he created and the artisitic style of the faces on the models and the well written stories using history as the background. I like the idea of creating stories with living trains, especially after growing up with Thomas the Tank Engine. I wanted to do an American version, ideally along the Southern Pacific railroad. That idea became Life on the Tracks.
3. Robin Hood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLhYSw67pdg
